Davinci Gives Back: January Charity - Habitat for Humanity
‘Habitat for Humanity partners with people in your community, and all over the world, to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With your support, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and for their families. Through our 2020 Strategic Plan, Habitat for Humanity will serve more people than ever before through decent and affordable housing.’
In January 2020, Davinci headed out and met up with Habitat for Humanity to donate time and effort on their newest house. We are proud to put in the hours to help those in need with such an amazing organization. We also donated funds to the project.
And here is a word from Ed, the CEO for Habitat for Humanity:
‘Dear Davinci,
I am writing to thank you for your kind and generous donation. Your support will give another hardworking family in Salt Lake County a gift never to be forgotten...a place to call home. At this time we have completed 97 homes and have several others under construction and in the planning stages.
Habitat families work for their homes by painting, sanding and nailing until they reach an accumulated 225 hours of “Sweat Equity” per adult on the mortgage. They are also required to attend classes in home ownership, maintenance, communication, and financial management. Partnerships with businesses, churches, individual donors and other agencies provide resources to create a climate for successful home ownership.
We are grateful for the caring people like you who give so generously to help low-income families in Salt Lake County build and buy a decent and affordable place to live. Imagine the joy they will feel the first night that they stay in a home of their own. We couldn’t accomplish our mission – to bring people together to build homes, communities and hope – without you.
On behalf of our staff, board, and partner families – we thank you for being such a generous supporter. The magic of giving doesn’t just happen on its own - it happens because of kind people like you who have created life-changing opportunities for our local families in need.
Thank you for building homes and changing lives this year.
Again, we thank you for your support and helping us succeed in our mission.
Sincerely,
Ed Blake, CEO
